A little bit about me

Creativity. Curiosity. People.

When I anxiously had to choose, at the tenderage of 17, what I wanted to do “when I grow up”, I knew I wanted to work in a field where I could use my imagination to create stories that people would love so much that they would talk about it.

And if you think I wanted to be a writer, journalist, film director, photographer, or historian, you’d be correct. However, all the adults in charge of guiding me in my academic journey warned me about the importance of having a job that pays my bills. Adulthood has never been more exciting!

Luckily for me, American TV shows and wholesome optimism led me to a “Business School” to pursue Marketing and Advertisement, because what’s better than telling stories about a brand to generate a HUGE amount of money? My storytelling dream shouldn’t go down the drain now because as I once said so confidently: “Mom, I can literally earn money by provoking strong emotions in people, just for them to buy what they didn’t know they needed” (or something along those lines). I didn’t have to think about my future bills. Oh was I wrong.

Well, I hated Marketing. At least not the way it was taught back then. It was outdated, cold, and frankly didn’t really satisfy my need to tell stories.

Everyone has a story to tell in this ever-evolving media and social landscape, including companies which sometimes struggle to speak to their audience and get their message across.

So, hello. My name is Chiara Pasqualino, a communications professional who somehow went from writing clickbaity articles for ad revenue to marketing crypto, DeFi, institutional finance, and generative AI products.

In other words, I traded headlines like “These places are the most haunted in Belgium” for sentences containing the words "tokenomics," "liquidity," and “user adoption." Arguably, both require a similar amount of creative interpretation.

Today, I like to think of myself as a successful data-driven marketer. My imposter syndrome, however, insists we leave that assessment open for peer review.

If you read until the end, firstly, thank you <3, secondly; what is your favorite meme? Because you’ll have to tell me once we first meet to work together!

Cheers,

Chiara
